Rooms
Each room is the result of meticulous architectural renovation and enhancement, aimed at preserving the essence of the place while highlighting its understated and essential style. At the same time, the rooms have been equipped with the most modern technologies.
This perfect balance between ancient and modern is reflected in the original exposed beams and parquet or terracotta floors, which harmoniously coexist with free Wi-Fi connection, satellite TVs, USB sockets, minibars, and touch bedside lamps.
It is a spacious
Triple Room of 22 m2 with direct views over the promenade along the River Adda, furnished with simplicity and good taste, featuring comfortable mattresses with soft 100% cotton duvets, and equipped with a complete and functional bathroom. The room is enriched with a calligraphy artwork inspired by
Leonardo's text about our region. The environment recalls and evokes the atmosphere of a late 15th-century convent. In his work
'Lake Como', Leonardo mentions the
Fiumelatte, which is located near
Varenna, the shortest river in Italy on the Lecco side.
It is a spacious
Triple Room of 24 m2, very bright thanks to its French doors overlooking the large park at the back and the most famous peaks of the Lecco area. It is enhanced by an original chestnut beam that warms the environment and adds a touch of antiquity. The Resegone is the typical mountain of Lecco, part of the Lombard Prealps with an altitude of 1,875m, described by
Manzoni
in his famous novel
'The Betrothed' and illustrated by
Leonardo in a magnificent drawing depicting its distinctive jagged peak.
It is a
Suite of 50 m2, located on the first floor of the Monastero del Lavello, consisting of a living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a double bedroom, a delightful study, and a modern bathroom. It offers dual views: towards the square along the River
Adda
and towards the extensive park of the Monastery. The suite is tastefully furnished in a simple and linear style to enhance its essential nature: organic and tidy spaces, bare walls, exposed beams, and views of lush nature. The room is named after the village of
Bellagio, also known as the pearl of Lake Como. Leonardo dedicated an entire paragraph in the Codex Atlanticus to this town, describing the medieval castle of which some remains can still be found in the park of
Villa Serbelloni, located on its promontory.
It is a Double Room
of 18 m2 overlooking both the church courtyard and the River Adda. The room is furnished with simplicity and good taste to enhance the simplicity and essential nature of the monastic environment. Mandello is situated on the shore of the Lecco branch of Lake Como
and was mentioned twice by Leonardo da Vinci
in his Codex Atlanticus. It is an important town located at the foot of the Grigne
mountains, which deeply impressed Leonardo
with their rocky pinnacles and cavities that form the backdrop to some of his masterpieces.
It's a double room that can accommodate up to 4 people. The beauty of these 2 rooms is enhanced by the chestnut beams that add a unique charm and antique taste. This family room overlooks a porticoed terrace that faces the typical mountains of Lecco.
Describing
Grigna
in the Codex Atlanticus,
Leonardo
notes that its summit is so high that vegetation does not grow there. He portrays it in a charming sanguine drawing after exploring it for his studies on geology and botany.
It's a bright
Double Room of 18 m2 overlooking the church courtyard and the Adda River. As an inlet and outlet of Lake Como, it is traversed by cycling and pedestrian paths along banks rich in nature, fauna, and flora.
Leonardo
travelled this river and studied hydraulics here to divert its course for transporting goods from Lake Como to Milan. Numerous studies document his fervent research described in multiple sheets of the
Codex Atlanticus. One of the most fascinating drawings is
"Ferry on the Adda," preserved at
Windsor Castle
in London.
It's a spacious communal room of 46 m2 with 2 separate bathrooms, a trussed roof with 4 skylights, suitable for hosting pilgrims of the many trails (Viandante, S. Colombano, S. Agostino...) that line Lake Como and the Adda River. Spacious enough to accommodate up to 8 people for religious or secular tourism, for large families or groups seeking relaxation, sacred places, and the beauties of nature.
Mount
San Martino, at 1,090 m, is part of the
Grigne
group and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of
Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. It is believed that its vertical walls inspired
Leonardo
for some remarkable sanguine or charcoal sketches.
